The Crescent Nebula, also known as NGC 6888, Caldwell 27, and Sharpless 105, is a stunning emission nebula located in the constellation Cygnus, approximately 5,000 light-years from Earth. Discovered by William Herschel in 1792, it was formed by the powerful stellar winds from the Wolf-Rayet star WR 136, which collided with the slower winds released during the star's earlier red giant phase. This cosmic interaction has created a beautiful shell-like structure, with shock waves that heat the stellar winds to emit X-rays.

While small and faint when observed visually, the Crescent Nebula shines in astrophotography.
For this particular image I collected data over 2 nights in 3 different wave-lenghts of light. Ha, SII and OIII. This combination of data allowed to me turn it into the beautiful hubble palette (SHO).
